Previous Acting Experience: Theater/Production/Role

Rehearsals will be determined based on Cast conflicts.

Conflicts: Please list any conflicts or times/days you would be unable to attend rehearsals. Traditionally, rehearsals will be weekday evenings or weekends.

Auditions will be cold reads from the script. Those that audition are expected to attend one night of auditions (either March 16th & March 17th - whichever fits your schedule best). Roles are not cast in advance. We celebrate diversity and encourage performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientations to audition. Overall, the thing to remember is that these characters mirror classic TV and film archetypes! Roles available include:

George Hay: is a flamboyant, aging stage actor who believes he’s destined for greatness. He’s dramatic, egotistical, romantic, and prone to over-the-top reactions—especially when his pride or career is threatened. Think Michael Scott from The Office or Basil Fawlty from Fawlty Towers.

Charlotte Hay: is George’s wife and leading lady. Strong, sharp, and just as theatrical as George, but more practical. She balances ambition with resentment, especially over George’s wandering eye and broken promises.Refer to Moira Rose from Schitt's Creek or Claire Dunphy from Modern Family for inspiration.

Ethel: is Charlotte’s hard-of-hearing mother. Sweet but unintentionally disruptive, often misunderstanding key lines and adding to the farce. For spot-on fun, study Sophia Petrillo from The Golden Girls or Grandma Yetta from The Nanny.

Rosalind: is The Hays’ daughter. More grounded and practical than her parents, she feels torn between the chaotic theater life and a more stable future. Channel your inner Lane Kim from the Gilmore Girls or Meg March from Little Women.

Howard: is Roz’s fiancé. Nervous, proper, and easily overwhelmed by the theatrical madness around him. He represents “normal” society clashing with show-business chaos. He is similar to Jerry Gergich from Parks and Recreation or Ken in the Barbie movie.

Paul: is our loyal stage manager, secretly in love with Roz. Earnest, dependable, and quietly devoted to the theater. Try embracing your inner Samwise Gamgee from the Lord of the Rings or Niles Crane from Frasier.

Richard Maynard: is Roz’s ambitious ex-boyfriend, now a successful TV lawyer. Confident and polished, he represents fame, stability, and the life outside struggling theater. An example would be Harvey Specter from Suits.

I would accept any role

If not cast, I would be interested in helping out as a costumed set person.

BEFORE AUDITIONING please make sure that you ARE available for ALL show nights which are May 15th-May 24th. The rehearsal process will consist of Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday evenings until we get closer to tech week. We will endeavour to work around holidays and actor scheduling conflicts within reason. Actors are required to attend promo photo night, tech rehearsals, preview night, and all performances.
